The Nigelangel Studio Gallery
Kritsa
is a large attractive village in Crete which combines a love for
its traditions with a modern outgoing outlook. During the summer
months it is visited by numerous day-trippers. I have a studio/gallery
here where I produce various small art works for sale, usually
in editions from 6-24 pieces. The aim is to keep my sculpture
rare but affordable. I particularly enjoy working in pewter. Because
of its low melting point, casting can be done in my workshop.
For larger pieces I tend to use Bronze Resin, which possesses
much of the attractiveness of Bronze but is far less heavy (an
importante concern for air travellers). It is also far less expensive.
I also accept commissions for relief sketch portraits, usually
working from photographs. These can, of course, always be emailed
to me.
Cretans
have impeccable taste and for some reason don't seem terribly
keen on saying 'Nigel.' They prefer to call me 'Angelos'...it
seemed as good a name as any.
